People who work here are always so nice. Please keep in mind the market is separate from the restaurant that is in there so there may be a mix of reviews. For the market; Meat quality and prices are great. The cheese the cubeta is bomb and always fresh! Great selection of stuff! The produce too is fresh and good. The people who work here are always so nice and ready to help. Love having this local place so close to our neighborhood. We come here for our chicken and meat products - we do not go anywhere else. Oh and let me tell you - the chicharrones they have In those bags : soooo good! Better than any other little market around here! We love them and don't buy them from anywhere else! Restaurant: No complaints. People were really nice! Food was really good. Portions were great! Price for what you get was great (what it should be in Los Banos). Will continue to come.
I was on the hunt for masa and fresh corn tortillas. They are constantly making their corn tortillas, and also flour tortillas. I was able to snag them both while still hot! I also picked up 2 bags of masa. Was able to make my own corn tortillas at home and sopes. Everyone was friendly.
I haven't had a chance to try their restaurant area, but their grocery is well-stocked. They are very friendly & within walking distance from my home. Very large selection of fresh fruits & vegetables at reasonable prices. They have an extensive fish & seafood section at the rear of the store, but I'm allergic to shellfish so I steer clear of it. What I saw is high quality, fresh and well-displayed. I've seen the meat company delivering a few times when I've passed by. Like the other reviewer said, they are well-known for their taqueria and it's best to order in advance or be there early. Tamales sound good to me.
The BEST Chili Verdi!! And homemade flour and corn tortillas made on premises. Ever since Cecilia's closed, I've been on the hunt for a good/similar Chili Verde. When I don't have the time to make my own, La Morentia is definitely the place to go!!!
The Sunday menudo was great ! The prices is fair for the portions. Customer service was alright but understandable because the line is long !
Fine burritos and a nice little supermarket. I love the homemade tortillas. You can actually see them making them, the conveyor belt moving the new tortillas into the oven. For less than $9 I got a carne asada "super" burrito (largest burrito). Much better deal than a Carl's Jr meal I almost got today. Glad I walked out and came to my senses. It helps to get off HI-152 and check out what is really available in Los Banos. Otherwise you're eating with tourists passing by.
This is the Best Mexican store/restaurant I've been to in years. The customer service is great whether it's from the food restaurant part of it, meat department or even the Grocery part, the girls and the guys are all very nice and very helpful. I recommend this place to the fullest they also do catering at a great price.
